Welcome to Ritualist, a minimalist, privacy-first habit tracker for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy and giving you full control over your data.

1. Information We Collect

Ritualist is designed to be 100% privacy-first. All your data stays on your device.

• Local Habit Data: Habits, completion history, streaks, notes, icons, colors, and settings are stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device.
• We do not have any backend servers and we do not collect, store, or transmit your habit data to us or any third party.

2. Google Drive Backup & Restore (Pro Feature Only)

This is an optional, opt-in feature available only to Pro users:

• You must manually tap “Backup” or “Restore” — the feature is never automatic.
• It uses Google Sign-In to authenticate you (we only receive your email address for identification purposes).
• The app uses the Google Drive API with the limited https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata scope. This means Ritualist can only access its own hidden “App Data Folder” on your Google Drive — it cannot see, read, or modify any of your other files.
• Only the local ritualist.db database file is uploaded or downloaded.

3. Google AdMob (Free Version Only)

The free version of Ritualist displays banner ads powered by Google AdMob, a third-party service.

Google may collect certain information (such as device identifiers, advertising ID, and approximate location) to show personalized ads. We do not control or have access to this data.

4. Google Play Billing (One-Time Pro Purchase)

Ritualist uses Google Play Billing to process the one-time Pro upgrade. All payment information is handled securely by Google. We never see or store your credit card number, billing address, or any financial details.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored locally on your device using standard Android security practices. We recommend keeping your device locked and up to date for maximum protection.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Delete All Data: You can permanently erase all your habits and history at any time from the Settings screen.
• Export Data: Pro users can export their data as a CSV file.
• You can uninstall the app at any time to remove all local data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Ritualist is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will be changed accordingly. We recommend checking this page periodically.
